Kailash is a holy mountain to four religions- Tibetan Buddhism, Bon, Hinduism and Jainism. Pilgrims from all over Tibet, India and Nepal make the arduous pilgrimage to the mountain every year. Most pilgrims come to do the 55 km kora or circling around the mountain. Buddhists and Hindus will walk in the clockwise direction while Bon does it anti-clockwise.
