Tibet: Biggest group of glaciers found in Tibet

Chinese media had reported that a group of 42 new glaciers had been discovered on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau by satellite imaging.

The Ngari region in the westernmost part of Tibet has been one of the least accessible parts of Tibet for a very long time. The impediments to foreign travelers to Ngari had been twofold- transport difficulty as well as stringent permit requirements (on top of the usual Tibet Travel Permit (TTB)). The major attractions in this part of Tibet are Mount Kailash, Lake Manasarover and Guge.
However there were tremendous improvements in both of these factors lately.
