Back to All Destinations | Yangshuo, Guangxi The most attractive destination for backpackers in China. Located in Guangxi province of southwest China. Follow the trails introduced by this site, in the countryside not yet touched by hordes of tourists, you would easily enjoy a picturesque limestone landscape along Li river and Yulong river. More |
 | Pingan, Guangxi Pingan is no longer a peaceful village. During our last visit in March 2008, it was invaded by hundreds of Chinese group visitors. Backpackers can go to Pingan from Guilin in the morning by bus and then walk to Jinkeng, a 4-hour easy trek. Group tourists from Guilin don't go to Jinkeng due to the steep ascent from Parking to the top viewpoint. Travelers can still enjoy charming minority villages, not distroyed by tourism. More |
 | Chengyang Bridge, Guangxi Possibly the biggest and best maintained Wind and Rain Bridge we have seen. However well maintained also means that it is not in its original state ie being painted over and rebuilt. More |
 | Yuanyang, Yunnan Yuanyang's incredible rice terraces allows hikers to explore China's most beautiful and peaceful countryside with great freedom. In additions, one can discover one or two minority markets taking place in different villages every day. The most exciting encounter is to participate in one of the numrous local ethnic festivals such as Dragon Feast, Amatu, Torch Festval. More |
 | Chala, Shuangla, Yunnan The houses in the villages are constructed mainly from wood and nestle among beautiful wheat plots and walnut trees. The Nus here (as in elsewhere) are extremely friendly. A unique tradition of the Nus is harnessing the power of water. More |
 | Luoping, Yunnan Luoping is a small county in Yunnan located about 228 kilometers north east of Kunming. It had become a Mecca for photographers, who flock to this small county every early spring to capture the magnificent “sea of yellow” of blooming rapeseed flowers. The majestic photos in turn, draw more and more tourists to this beautiful rural photographic haven. More |
 | Taishun Bridges, Zhejiang Taishun County in southwest Zhejiang province hides some of China's most beautiful ancient wooden bridges. Much to my surprise, these magnificent ancient bridges, not far away from the rich coastal cities like Wenzhou, Ningbo and Shanghai, are still unknown to the public.
